Sturgeon River-CR 65 to CR 923

Sturgeon River-CR 65 to CR 923 Professional Review and Guide

"The Sturgeon undergoes another change - from hair-raising whitewater run to a lazy stream blocked by frequent logjams.

It winds past slumping banks of clay. Downed trees cross the channel. In places, dozens of logs lodge in a bend or shallow stretch of the river. If you choose to run this section, you’ll have to pick your way through perhaps a half dozen jams. Often you’ll have no choice but to portage. The locations and sizes of the logjams vary as floods break up the jams and move them elsewhere."
