Sturgeon River-CR 766 to CR 65

Sturgeon River-CR 766 to CR 65 Professional Review and Guide

"This short stretch runs through as difficult and concentrated a whitewater run as can be found in the area.

And you think Clark Kent makes a quick change. Right below the CR 766 bridge, the Sturgeon changes from a mild-mannered stream to a super stretch of whitewater. The river races through three Class III rapids that drop about 30 feet in 0.75 mile. The narrow, winding channel is clogged with large boulders that throw large standing waves in high water. The waves and tight turns are particularly tough in an open canoe."
