If you start the trail in Memorial Park, the trail itself in the park is very torn up, but once you get out of the park onto the rest of the trail, it's a great smooth ride. Make note that when you're in the park, you must take a sharp right and cross a wood bridge to continue on versus going straight, which just takes you for a short ways to the end of the park and stops. This is a very scenic trail and you are in the heart of the woods so watch for a few of the limbs that lay on the trail, and there was even a large tree branch that was down that I had to duck "under" as I was biking, but it actually made the trail fun. As you get close to Chaska and County Road 41, there is a new section of trail that is brand new blacktop and a joy to ride. Your ride will come to an end at a construction site where they are currently working on the 4 lane bridge that goes immediately into Chaska, crossing the Minnesota River. Just before the end of the trail there is a nice state parking area as well, so this is a good trail that can be accessed from either side without having to park your car in the middle of nowhere. This would also be a great walking trail if you like nature and the bugs weren't out.
