Lake Rebecca Park Reserve

Lake Rebecca Park Reserve Professional Review and Guide

"Geologically speaking, Lake Rebecca Park Reserve lies on the ground moraine deposited by the Des Moines lobe of the Wisconsin ice age glacial material. The park has rolling country side that was clear-cut by early settlers for agricultural use.

Much of that land continues to revert naturally back to a Big Woods forested composition in what is called “old field” succession. Maple and basswood forests are slowly regaining footholds as this park returns to a more woodsy nature. The Hennepin Regional Park District is still acquiring land for the park. When complete, Lake Rebecca Park Reserve will have more than 2,500 acres. The bike/hike trail offers the best all-around experience at Lake Rebecca."
