"This segment of trail options belongs to a larger network of trails stretched along the narrow creek corridor that is part of Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Park Reserve. This hike combines two segments: the northern arm, which winds through upland forests and meadows, and the southern section, which follows the creek as it winds its way through lowland vegetation and scattered clusters of mixed lowland hardwoods. The northern segment is a linear 1.5-mile paved pathway that you can hike either out-and-back or one-way (parking lots are located at both ends). The southern trail loops down along the creek to its southern terminus; this area is undergoing extended highway improvements but does not affect the route."
