Goodhue Pioneer State Trail

Goodhue Pioneer State Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Extensive, towering bluff-lined valleys flank the Mississippi River; smaller valleys are cut by smaller rivers such as the Cannon and Zumbro; and then there are those even smaller drainages—feeder streams that handle the even smaller details of etching the landscape of southern Minnesota.

Such is Hay Creek, and such is the value in the scenery and geology of these bottomlands through which this hike travels. The Goodhue Pioneer State Trail is basically a stream itself: a stretch of pavement showcasing a typical southern-Minnesota forest as it meanders alongside this small creek."
