Woodenfrog Campground Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Located within Kabetogama State Forest, Woodenfrog is on Lake Kabetogama, a gateway to Voyageurs National Park. It’s a beautiful park, full of massive red and white pines with hiking trails winding through them. Fishing is good here too, with anglers catching plenty of walleye, lake trout, and bass.
There’s a historic CCC building on- site that is used during the summer for interpretive talks. The forest itself is popular with canoers and kayakers who are capable of taking on rougher waters (it’s a good idea to bring camping basics with you on an extended paddle, in case you run into rougher- than- expected waters). While the campsites are spaced reasonably far apart, this is a popular campground in the summer, so at times it can feel crowded. Pets are allowed."
