Little Fork River-Samuelson Park to Dentaybow

Little Fork River-Samuelson Park to Dentaybow Professional Review and Guide

"This stretch of the Little Fork is isolated and wild, and will appeal to paddlers who want to get away from it all. Once the Little Fork slips under the Minnesota Highway 65 bridge near Silverdale and Rauch, the river flows unfettered and undeveloped for more than 40 miles before it hits another bridge.

A few trails and four-wheel-drive tracks touch the river, but for much of that length, no real roads parallel the river. The riverside scenery isn’t spectacular—it consists largely of low-lying hardwood and conifer forest and peat bog—but it shows little evidence of human activity. The river is flanked, for the most part, by state forest land or tribal lands of the Ojibwa."
