Buffalo River State Park Professional Review and Guide
"It can be difficult to explain how beautiful the wide-open, expansive prairie land is, which can make this park a revelation to the first-time visitor. The campground here gives visitors access to a preserved part of agricultural history. Nature lovers will find plenty of native plants and wildlife to keep them entertained, while the Buffalo River provides swimming and fishing opportunities. The campsites are good-sized and spaced far enough apart to allow for some privacy. Pets are allowed.
Minnesota may be best known for its northeast corner along Lake Superior, and certainly that’s a strikingly beautiful place, but the northwest part of the state, while very different in terrain and feel, has great beauty as well. Even better, it has excellent outdoor recreational opportunities. Along the borders of the Dakotas and the Red River Valley, the land is flat, and you can drive for miles and see nothing but immense tracts of agriculture."
