Prospect Park’s Tower Hill Park and Water Tower Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Prospect Park is an unusual neighborhood in Minneapolis, distinct in its piquant combination of hilly terrain, thick woods, and streets that weave throughout the upscale area. The hill that is today Tower Hill Park was created by a glacier 14,000 years ago. It was first settled in the 1880s, and the landmark Water Tower was erected in 1914. The housing stock has remained well preserved over the years, and the area is perennially home to academics from the nearby University of Minnesota.
Warning: Exercise extreme caution when descending the steep hill, and avoid it entirely when snow and ice are on the ground, making the path slick and impassable."
