Nicollet Mall Professional Review and Guide
"Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, Nicollet Mall is 12 blocks of flower-lined sidewalks with ample opportunities for window-shopping, closed off to all street traffic except for bicycles, taxis, and city buses. This section of Nicollet Avenue was converted into one of the country’s first pedestrian malls in 1967, laid out in a gentle S-shape that was later revisited as a C-curve in 1987 to accommodate new construction. On select days from late November until just before Christmas, the mall is home to the famous Holidazzle Parade, an electric parade that makes its way down the tree-lined streets. Every Thursday May–October, one of the oldest and most popular urban farmers’ markets is held here, and the streets are packed with local merchants selling everything from fresh fruit to handmade musical instruments."
