"At over 4,900 acres, Elm Creek Park Reserve offers one of the longest hiking loops in the state. The 11-mile loop around Hayden and Lemans Lakes encircles most of the northern half of the park. The combined watershed of this area drains more than 70,000 acres, nearly one-third of Hennepin County. It is through this expansive drainage area that this paved hiking trail leads. Start at the Eastman Nature Center parking lot, and follow the road up to the park’s entrance at Elm Creek Road. Go right a few hundred yards to the trailhead for the Elm Creek Trail."
