Elm Creek Park Reserve

Elm Creek Park Reserve Professional Review and Guide

"Roll on 15 miles of sinuous pathways through woods, marshland, meadows, and six lakes in the largest reserve in the Three Rivers Regional Parks system. Elm Creek’s 4,900 acres host over 30 miles of trails, with connections to the Rush Creek and Medicine Lake Regional Trails. Keep an eye out for the park’s resident wildlife, and don’t miss Eastman Nature Center’s stacked calendar of interpretive programs."

"At over 4,900 acres, Elm Creek Park Reserve offers one of the longest hiking loops in the state. The 11-mile loop around Hayden and Lemans Lakes encircles most of the northern half of the park. The combined watershed of this area drains more than 70,000 acres, nearly one-third of Hennepin County.

It is through this expansive drainage area that this paved hiking trail leads. Start at the Eastman Nature Center parking lot, and follow the road up to the park’s entrance at Elm Creek Road. Go right a few hundred yards to the trailhead for the Elm Creek Trail."
