Middle River Community Campground Professional Review and Guide
"This is a small campground in a tiny town set on the Middle River, but it’s a good stop for those trying to get farther north who can’t do it all in one day. It’s well maintained and has good restroom and shower facilities, although campsites are a bit crowded. The campground is also within easy walking distance to restaurants. Pets are allowed.
This is a boater’s and angler’s dream region, especially the area right across the top of the state with Lake of the Woods, the Rainy River, and Rainy Lake, often referred to as the Walleye Capital of the World (to the chagrin of some of the other walleye lakes in Minnesota). Lake of the Woods, most of which is in Canada, has 65,000 miles of shoreline and 14,000 islands."
