Camden State Park

Camden State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This park is part of a geological and biological zone that Joseph Nicollet called the Coteau des Prairie. It is a piece of the high prairie that divides the Mississippi and Missouri River watersheds.

Hikers enter the plain of the prairie, then descend into the lush maple-basswood forested Redwood River Valley. Once a home for bison, elk, and wolves, the park is abundant with springtime wildflowers, bass, trout, songbirds, white-tailed deer, hawks and coyotes."
