White Pine Lake Rustic Campground

White Pine Lake Rustic Campground Professional Review and Guide

"Located within Superior National Forest, this small campground amid stands of white pines along White Pine Lake is good for walleye and northern pike fishing. Along with the boat ramp is a barrier- free fishing pier. There is no drinking water, so plan accordingly. This is a pack- out campground. Winter camping is allowed, but roads may not be plowed. Pets are allowed.

This part of the state is one of the most scenic and beloved areas in Minnesota. It’s also steeped in history. Originally settled by the Ojibwe, the northeast area was soon discovered by Europeans who came looking for trade routes and posts. Fur trading was a booming business until the mid-1800s, when the traders and trappers moved farther west to the Mississippi headwaters area."
