Cascade Falls and The Cascades— Cascade River State Park

Cascade Falls and The Cascades— Cascade River State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Here is another outrageously beautiful state park in the North Shore collection, with vibrant forests and enchanting rock formations in the Cascade River gorge. The park boasts two handsome waterfalls within easy reach of the highway, and more just a short, scenic hike upstream. There are also many miles of hiking trails in the park and neighboring lands in and around the Sawtooth Mountains.

Cascade Falls tumbles 25 feet into a deep crevasse just a short hike upstream from Lake Superior. It looks like a giant spoonful of rock was scooped out, leaving behind a tightly curved cirque and shadowy alcove behind the falls. The scene is embellished with a crowd of towering, deep green cedar trees and luxuriant mosses draped on the dark rock of the cliff walls."
