Lofgren Memorial Park

Lofgren Memorial Park Professional Review and Guide

"This small but attractive campground is at the Little Fork River, and canoes and kayaks are available for rent. A nature trail goes along the river, where it’s an easy walk into downtown Littlefork, where visitors can find shops and cafes. The park is heavily wooded, and the campsites benefit from that for both privacy and shade. Pets are allowed.

This part of the state is one of the most scenic and beloved areas in Minnesota. It’s also steeped in history. Originally settled by the Ojibwe, the northeast area was soon discovered by Europeans who came looking for trade routes and posts. Fur trading was a booming business until the mid-1800s, when the traders and trappers moved farther west to the Mississippi headwaters area."
