La Salle Lake State Recreation Area Professional Review and Guide
"La Salle State Recreation Area is Minnesota’s newest recreation area, and it contains La Salle Lake, Minnesota’s deepest inland lake (213 feet), in which fishing could net you walleye, bluegill, northern pike, and crappie. (Note: Parking is limited at the boat access area.)
There’s also an old- growth northern white cedar stand with hiking trails that wind through it, and a swimming beach. The area is home to a diverse range of plant life, including 12 species of orchids and northern oak fern. (Note: The area is open to hunters, so if you’re camping during hunting season, take precautions.) Campsites are reasonably private, many with trees. Pets are allowed."
