Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area Lawrence Trail

Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area: Lawrence Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Minnesota River has hardly a stretch that hasn’t been hiked since humans first set foot along its shores. Clearly, each of the segments designated for recreation along the corridor that comprises the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area has ample trails and paths along which hikers can roam. Follow the gravel road into the park entrance marked trail center, and go to the right to the end of the parking lot.

A path leads to the left of the Trail Center building and immediately forks. You want to take the right fork designated as the Hiking Club Trail. The left fork is a horse trail that can be quite muddy even in the middle of summer. Save it for an additional hike option on a dry afternoon."
