Judge CR Magney State Park

Judge C.R. Magney State Park Professional Review and Guide

"This is a hike along another one of the North Shore's classic streams, the Brule river. This hike extends a couple of miles upriver to a scenic overlook of the river's gorge and waterfalls.

The hike starts at either of the state park’s visitor lots or at the campground, where you can cross the footbridge over the river to the trailhead. Farther upstream, the state has stocked the river with trout. The adventurous can hike up unmaintained trails to the upper reaches and tributaries for some remote fishing opportunities.

Special attractions: Devil's Kettle, where half the river disappears down a hole in the rocks and cascades into the Brule River."
