Granite Falls Memorial Park Professional Review and Guide
"This campground is on the shores of the Minnesota River and within walking distance of downtown Granite Falls. There is access to the river from the campground, and there’s a hiking trail on- site as well. Bird- watchers come here during migration seasons, as it’s near a migration route. The campsites are widely spaced with plenty of trees for ample privacy.
If the northern part of the state is about forests and dramatic glacial terrain, the southern part of the state has an entirely different feel. Here you will find historic old river towns, remnants of the tragic US- Dakota War of 1862, evidence of pioneer life (especially that of Laura Ingalls Wilder), reminders of Jesse James, ancient petroglyphs, country lanes, and, to the west, prairie land that stretches for miles (and will continue to expand, as land used for other purposes is slowly being returned to its native prairie state)."
