Lake Superior-Two Harbors to Caribou River

Lake Superior-Two Harbors to Caribou River Professional Review and Guide

"The shoreline through this stretch is often lined with cliffs—beautiful to look at but hazardous when a strong south wind pounds the shore with waves.

North of Two Harbors, the shoreline becomes craggier, the hillside steeper and higher. The cliffs and headlands are beautiful—but they also make landing difficult. So keep an eye on the weather as you prepare to pass long, rocky shorelines without shelter. Be aware that for two long stretches—miles 39–48 and 77–85—there are no public landing areas."
