Only do this hike if you are looking to say that you have been to the highest point in Minnesota. There are much more scenic and enjoyable hikes along the North Shore. The trail itself is very wet and every step ends on a rock, a root or a puddle. The views are non-existent for the first 2 ½ miles and then not that great from the top of the mountain. The peak itself has no view and only an old worn out plague indicating that you have reached the top of Minnesota.
