Beaver River Falls

Beaver River Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"As with most of the streams flowing to Lake Superior from the Laurentian Range, the Beaver River finishes its run with a flurry of activity, cascading steeply over metamorphic rock formations before emptying into the big lake. Beaver River Falls is one of the most easily accessed waterfalls on the North Shore. Its location just below the MN 61 bridge allows a nice look just by slowing down and looking out the car window, but get out and walk closer for a more enjoyable introduction.

Standing on the bridge, you are treated to a fantastic view of the first two cascades and a glimpse of the upper falls hidden around the distant bend. Turning downstream, there is an equally spectacular look at Lake Superior and the mouth of the river joining Beaver Bay."
