Lake Minnewaska Loop

Lake Minnewaska Loop Professional Review and Guide

"As you drive into Glenwood from the north or the east, a startling view of Lake Minnewaska unfolds about 1 miles from town. After you've cruised along on flat to barely rolling highways, the road suddenly drops down a glacial ridge that surrounds Glenwood and its watery neighbor. The lake appears almost as if it's a mythical apparition, brought on by the shock of finding the large body of water in the middle of farm country.

Thanks to Lake Minnewaska-the thirteenth largest lake in Minnesota-Glenwood has developed into a resort town as well as a supply point for area farmers. The town lies in part of the state that retains dramatic evidence of glacial activity. Much of this ride isn't suitable for children. As with the Lake Osakis Loop, through, an easy out-and-back ride exists."
