Cannon River Wilderness Area Trail

Cannon River Wilderness Area Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Wilderness is often used quite loosely to describe a primitive area with minimal development. One person’s wilderness is a bare-bones survival camp, while another’s is vault toilets and no showers.

There are two officially designated wilderness areas in Minnesota: one is the world-renowned Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and the other is a 3-milelong, 850-acre stretch along the Cannon River in southern Minnesota between Faribault and Northfield."
