Whiteface River-Whiteface Reservoir to Cotton

Whiteface River-Whiteface Reservoir to Cotton Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Whiteface is a little-traveled wilderness stream with many bouldery rapids in its upper reaches.

The upper reaches of the Whiteface are particularly intimate, only about 50 feet wide and often disappearing around a bend just a few hundred feet downstream. Frequent beaver dams can be annoying, depending on water level and size of the local beaver population. The rapids are bouldery but not technically difficult. The main challenge lies in dodging boulders through a stretch of 100 yards or more. Through the pools, the bottom is often sandy."
