Whiteface River-Cotton to St Louis River

Whiteface River-Cotton to St. Louis River Professional Review and Guide

"Below Cotton, the Whiteface is a swift but gentle stream that passes a mix of woods, pasture, and hayfields.

Below Cotton, the Whiteface flows across the flat and often boggy terrain that characterizes much of the larger St. Louis River watershed. At times the river runs swiftly. About a mile downstream from the County Route 7 bridge, the river drops about 5 feet over a quarter mile to form a notable rapids just above the confluence with Joki Creek. Otherwise there are few rapids. In places, the banks slump and drop trees into the river. You may have to work through or portage an occasional logjam. Near Meadowlands, the steep banks and forests of the upper stretch give way to a more open countryside of aspen forests and pastureland."
