Sauk River-Cold Spring to Pine View Park

Sauk River-Cold Spring to Pine View Park Professional Review and Guide

"The Sauk resumes its riverine nature, meandering calmly toward St. Cloud.

Put in below the dam at Cold Spring. The Sauk winds through woods and some pasture. There are no real rapids, but there may be fast water and some maneuvering around snags when the water is high. Granite outcrops are occasionally visible along the river. One drawback in late summer is the thick weed growth in the river’s slower stretches. Fishing can be good in this section, especially for channel cats and, in spring, walleye."
