Vermilion River-Table Rock Falls to High Falls

Vermilion River-Table Rock Falls to High Falls Professional Review and Guide

"The Vermilion resumes a placid character with only a few mild rapids. This most wild and undeveloped stretch of river makes a good overnight trip.

The Vermilion finds a groove and quietly flows past a forest of fir, spruce, birch, and aspen. After a couple of miles, the river meets Belgium Fred’s Rapids (river mile 29.3). A short, bouldery stretch that rates Class I, it is a feeble effort compared to the fury of Table Rock Falls. Portage left about 200 yards if you wish to bypass it."
