Scenic State Park Professional Review and Guide

"I believe this could be called the perfect place to ride a mountain bike. The trail starts out with a warm-up on a smooth access road, then climbs gently up to a fire tower lookout. You will wind past immense old-growth pines on a soft pine needle-covered surface, then descend down a short hill with scattered small boulders.

Back at the base of the hill, the trail travels through deeper sand and gravel and past a short boardwalk through a hushed northland bog. An additional loop east of the fire tower provides some tougher terrain and an extra couple of miles. Secluded backcountry campsites are tucked in along the shores of Pine Lake—bring your tent for double the fun. Tread: Gravel road at start, then singletrack to die for; some pavement at end."
