Swift Wildlife Cruise Ride Professional Review and Guide
"From ring-necked pheasants to dark-eyed junco sightings, prairie wildlife is very common on this bike ride northeast of Benson. The ride starts in a town platted by the railroad that today is heavily reliant on agriculture. But, unbeknown to many, the topography of northeast Swift County is hilly, with large parcels of land set aside from cultivation, making this tour an oasis for prairie wildlife viewing.
Riding along the Chippewa River then up around Lake Hassel, you might catch sight of an egret or some diving ducks. Rolling through the countryside, you will soon arrive in Swift Falls. Then, circling around a couple of wildlife management areas, you might have the opportunity to see prairie birds, small mammals, and waterfowl before returning to a park where the Chippewa ambushed the Sioux."
