Swenson Park Campground Professional Review and Guide
"This small, quiet campground is a good choice for a restful trip that mostly involves fishing and staying on the beach. Swenson Lake has populations of crappie and bluegill, and the sandy swimming beach has a picnic shelter next to it. With only 10 sites, the campground doesn’t feel crowded. Pets are allowed.
If the northern part of the state is about forests and dramatic glacial terrain, the southern part of the state has an entirely different feel. Here you will find historic old river towns, remnants of the tragic US- Dakota War of 1862, evidence of pioneer life (especially that of Laura Ingalls Wilder), reminders of Jesse James, ancient petroglyphs, country lanes, and, to the west, prairie land that stretches for miles (and will continue to expand, as land used for other purposes is slowly being returned to its native prairie state)."
