St. Louis River-Aurora to Forbes Dam Professional Review and Guide
"This section of the St. Louis is peaceful, meandering, and wooded. It's not hear stopping, but it makes a pleasant trip.
Not much here to raise your blood pressure. In fact, this stretch of the St. Louis is practically the definition of soothing. The river speeds through a short Class I rapids just downstream from the put-in but then crosses the bed of Glacial Lake Upham, where there’s not much topography to speed the river along. Narrow and intimate, the river gently winds—and winds and winds—between low banks forested by spruce, fir, birch, and aspen."
