Myre-Big Island State Park

Myre-Big Island State Park Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Big Island is the name of a 116-acre island that sits in Albert Lea Lake, covered with forest. The rest of the park has a mix of just about everything from oak savanna to prairie. Here are 16 miles of hiking trails that explore the varying natural sites.

Bikers are happy with the 6 miles of paved bike trails that leave the park and connect with the Blazing Star State Trail. The lake itself is a big source of recreation, with fishing, boating, and swimming all popular activities. Hawks, owls, and eagles are just among the many species of birds found here."
