Sylvania Wilderness and Recreation Area: Clark Lake Campground Professional Review and Guide
"Clark Lake is just the beginning when it comes to camping in the Sylvania Wilderness.
Most of the forest in the Upper Peninsula, and the Lower Peninsula for that matter, was harvested in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. What you see today, even in the most remote national and state forests, is second growth, woods less than a hundred years old. A few pockets of virgin stand here and there offer a glimpse of the old Michigan. The Sylvania Wilderness offers more than a glimpse. Here you can immerse yourself for a week of camping in an authentic North Country woods."
