Clark Lake Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"When hikers stand at the north end of Clark Lake, with its picnic area and boat ramp, they could easily imagine they were at any one of a number of northern lakes. By the time they arrive at the south end of the lake however, it is obvious they are someplace special--the core of a wilderness area sheltering 17,000 acres of virgin forest.
Begin your circuit of Clark Lake on the southeast corner of the boat ramp parking lot where a sign indicates the beginning of the Clark Lake Trail. Follow the trail southeast as it skirts the shoreline, rounding bays and cutting across piney peninsulas. After a little more than a mile, it ducks inland to make its way around aptly named Golden Silence Lake, a placid pond."
