"The VASA Singletrack is an excellent example of the smooth, well-maintained trails that have been built by the Michigan Mountain Biking Association in cooperation with the Department of Natural Resources. Thirteen miles of twisting singletrack wind along a groomed trail with banked corners, allowing you to turn almost without braking.

There are plenty of gentle whoop-de-dos on the straight portions of the trail for an added thrill. The trail passes over the VASA cross-country ski trail, where the world-famous VASA ski race takes place every winter; about 1,000 skiers compete on 12-, 27-, and 50-km courses. If you feel like a race but cross-country skiing isn’t your thing, consider joining about 2,000 mountain bikers for the annual Iceman Cometh Challenge in November. Tread: 13 miles of singletrack."
