Apple Cider Cruise Professional Review and Guide
"One of the most popular bicycle tours in the country is the annual Apple Cider Century, held the last Saturday in September. The ride explores the shore of Lake Michigan and inland orchards as it guides 7,000 rides on the road to bicycling adventure. It takes 6,000 slices of apple pie and 2,000 gallons of apple cider, along with similar quantities of other foods and more bananas than I like to think about, to keep the Midwest's largest bicycle tour rolling.
This loop is one of four included in the event. The others are 25, 75, and 100 miles in length. In its twenty years the Apple Cider Century has grown exponentially, thanks to the small but active membership of the Three Oaks Bicycle Club. A mere 226 rode in the first, in 1974. Today an entry limit is enforced to keep things manageable. The route rambles, but its heart is at the Bicycle Museum in Three Oaks, which is the starting point for this loop."
