Sturgeon River Campground Professional Review and Guide
"This site and Sparrow Rapids are a couple of the most rustic in the book. Sturgeon River Campground’s handful of sites are on a small loop just off the namesake’s shore inside the Ottawa National Forest. Services are not provided; there is no water. But what you get for your troubles is a site inside the Sturgeon River Gorge Wilderness, which shows volcanic out- croppings, tumbling waters, and a depth of 350 feet. Hikers have the 7.5-mile Sidnaw Creel Trail and are not far from the North Country National Scenic Trail. In spring or when the water is high, there is paddling but only for the experts."
