Sleepy Hollow State Park

Sleepy Hollow State Park Professional Review and Guide

"Park management at this 2,600-acre park has opened its doors to mountain bikers, allowing cyclists on the entire 16-mile hiking trail system. This route follows the perimeter Red Trail as it cruises through open fields and in and out of hardwoods.

It is an excellent trail for beginners looking for a longer, virtually obstacle-free, mostly singletrack ride. More experienced cyclists will find it a good early season conditioner. Although the trail is marked with posts and maps, there are a few confusing intersections. However, a wrong turn is usually obvious within a short distance. The prettiest section and most challenging hills come toward the end of the ride when the trail follows man-made Lake Ovid. Tread: 10.9 miles of singletrack and wide ski trails."
