Lake Michigan Campground—Hiawatha National Forest Professional Review and Guide
"This is a lovely string of sites just off the highway and lined up along Lake Michigan. The waves crashing along shore are fun, and swimming is possible. Be alert of condi- tions for riptides. Dunes up to 30 feet high characterize this stretch of Lake Michigan shoreline, and the campsites are well above the waterline with sloping trails down to the beach. Many of the sites are best for tent campers, although half of the sites are still workable for trailers and RVs. Highway noise is present, but wind and waves can often drown that out."
