Horseshoe Bay Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Just around the corner from St. Ignace’s hustle and bustle, the Lake Huron shoreline seems like a trip back in time. Eagles roost in white pine trees, otters dot the shore with their splay-footed tracks, and the rattling bark of sandhill cranes carries over the marsh grass inland.
Waves gather and rush to the shore, just as they have for thousands of years. Seven miles of this coast is within the Horseshoe Bay Wilderness, and the southern third is a sandy beach, which makes for a natural hiking route. Better yet, a maintained trail eases the hiker through the only obstacle in sight-a damp cedar area along the way to the coast."
