South Higgins Lake State Park Professional Review and Guide
"South Higgins State Park is in a nice position for 2 lakes. Not just the large, spring-fed Higgins Lake but also the small Marl Lake just to the south and its 700 acres of hardwood and pine forest. Marl lacks the development along Higgins Lake. The nicely shaded campground is the second largest in a state park, and reservations go fast each year. But multiple toilet/shower facilities serve the abundant campers. Fishing in Higgins is for perch and trout, while Marl turns up perch, smallmouth bass, and northern pike."
