North Higgins Lake State Park Professional Review and Guide
"At one time this park was the world’s largest seedling nursery, and it remains a great place for seeing birds and other wildlife. The campground is split into 2 very sepa- rate loops, with 82 sites in the east loop and 92 in the west loop. A boat launch and sandy beach let visitors enjoy the lake. Almost 12 miles of hiking trails lie to the north in the park across Hig- gins Lake Drive where you will also find the fascinating museum dedicated to the Civilian Conser- vation Corps and the Depression-era work over 100,000 men accomplished in Michigan’s forests."
