Herman Vogler Conservation Area

Herman Vogler Conservation Area Professional Review and Guide

"The Herman Vogler Conservation Area is a constantly changing blend of habitats that range from highland hardwoods to marshes and a 9-acre impoundment that attracts a variety of waterfowl and wildlife.

The multi-use area is a 270-acre tract of public land, one-third of which lies within the city limits of Rogers City. The Trout River crosses the property for 3,500 feet, fed by a variety of smaller creeks—including the important brook trout nursery, Hartwick Creek. Forests of the area include ancient stands of cedars, mature hardwoods, and examples of forest management techniques that will ensure the area continues to flourish."
