Big Carp River Trail

Big Carp River Trail is a hiking trail in Gogebic County and Ontonagon County, Michigan. It is within Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. It is 8.2 miles long and begins at 1,366 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 16.5 miles with a total elevation gain of 2,265 feet. Lake of the Clouds Scenic Overlook and another viewpoint are near the trailhead. The LaFayette Mine (elevation 1,043 feet) quarry, Miscowawbic Peak (elevation 1,437 feet), and the Backcountry campsite BC3, Backcountry campsite, Backcountry campsite BC2, and Backcountry campsite BC4 camp sites can be seen along the trail. The trail ends near the Big Carp 6 Cabin and Big Carp 4 Cabin chalets. This trail connects with the following: Lake Superior Trail, Escarpment Trail and Correction Line Trail.
