Monument Campground—Huron National Forest Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This single-loop Huron National Forest campground has a bit of history and thus the monument for which it is named. The 14-foot bronze Lumberman’s monument on- site remembers the clearing out of the trees around here. The Civilian Conservation Corps was responsible for bringing back the forest in 1938. As you might imagine, the sites are well shaded by pine. The camp is on the River Road Scenic Byway and just off the Au Sable River. Ten sites are reservable."
