Onaway State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Onaway you might say is “on the way” to a bunch of sites. The park is a destination in its own right, with a sand and cobblestone beach on the beautiful 10,130-acre Black Lake, a 3-mile nature trail, rock formations, and stands of virgin white pine. But just short drives away are Ocqueoc Falls, Shoepac Lake, Black Mountain Forest Recreation Area with 30 miles of hiking, and the Sturgeon Capital of Michigan: Onaway. The sites are adequately spaced, separated by grassy areas, and nicely shaded. The lower campground offers sites closer to the lake."
