Mostly off-road enthusiasts know of this place, but the hiking and lake opportunities shouldn’t be overlooked. The partly shaded sites are divided into Upper and Lower Units. The Upper Unit has 35 sites but is designated for off-road vehicle campers. Other campers have 17 sites in the Lower Unit, which are very close to the lake and are priced cheaper. The boat launch is in the Lower Unit. Hikers and bikers have 30 miles to explore on the paved and partly accessible Black Mountain Pathway. The trailhead is 2 miles east.
